Linda Tay’nahza’

Painter - Printmaker

The love of printmaking has been Linda Tay’nahza’s focus for more that 30 years.  She received a BS degree in Art Education from Northern Arizona University and completed graduate work in Art Education at University of Nevada.  Her life in the mountains, living in Northern Arizona, and Navajo Nation have strongly influenced her work.

Tay’nahza’s work was included in Apex of an Era 2015, Tamarind Institute, University of New Mexico, Western Visions 2013, National Museum of Wildlife Art, Jackson, WY.  Standout Prints, 2016 Highpoint Center For Printmaking, Minneapolis, MN. She is the recipient of funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and the California Enrichment Fund.  She was selected for the Utah Arts Council Traveling Exhibit ’00-’02. Her prints received recognition in both the 2003 and 2004 Southwest Regional Exhibitions at the Museum of Art, Saint George, Utah. Tay’nahza’ prints are in the permanent collections of the University of New Mexico, University of Arizona, Arizona State University, University of Texas, University of Nevada, University of Southern Utah and have been purchased by The Canyons Resort and Sundance Mountain Resort in Utah, Northstar Resort in Tahoe, Touchstone Pictures, Porsche North America, ancestory.com, Fitness Formula Clubs in Chicago, Far West Bank and other corporate collections.  Private collectors include Dan Rather, Former Sec of State Madeline Albright, members of the family of Robert Redford, Former Pres. of PBS Pat Mitchell, Marian Davies Lewis, film producer Jake Eberts and others!  Tay’nahza’s work has been featured in Sundance Catalogs.  Her imagery has been incorporated in the production of sportswear by Royal Robbins.  In 2016 her work was utilized in a Special Edition of When Things Fall Apart, by Pema Chodron.

For several years Tay’nahza’ taught for the JFK Special Arts program in Nevada and with the National Ability Center, Park City, Utah.  She has taught on all levels from early childhood through adult education for more than 40 years and loves teaching!
